The Fabulous M. Leighton

I have the pleasure of hosting one of my dear friends on my blog this week, who also happens to be a bestselling author in several categories on Amazon. Below is her newest book which is a must read!!!

Madly is your average nearly-eighteen year old girl‚ÄĒfor a mermaid princess, that is.

Madly James is thoroughly enjoying her internship in Slumber when the unthinkable happens‚ÄĒthere‚Äôs a prison break in Atlas, Madly‚Äôs home beneath the sea.¬†¬† A traitor has set free eight Lore, the spirits of what humans know as fairy tales, and they are making their way to Slumber to awaken their descendants.¬†

The first spirit to arrive is that of Ulrich Wolfhardt, a man that was once obsessed with wolves and a young maiden he would follow through the woods.  After a bite from a wolf, Wolfhardt’s obsession with the girl became an unnatural hunger and the young maiden’s grandmother cursed him with a fate worse than death.  And now he’s back…with a vengeance and a bite that can infect others as well.

Madly must learn the identity of Wolfhardt’s descendant and stop him before he kills again and spreads his curse across the earth.  But the only person strong enough to help Madly is Jackson, the Sentinel who vowed to protect her and the one person capable of breaking her heart.  Can Madly resist forbidden love long enough to save the world from Wolfhardt?  Or will she have to sacrifice her heart and her destiny to save the ones she loves?

Happy Anniversary Author Tiffany

I guess you can call this a guest blog post, or maybe a hijacking would be more appropriate since my wife doesn’t know that I’m taking over her blog for a moment. Tomorrow marks 17 years that I have been blessed to be married to my beloved Author Tiffany. I can still picture the first time I laid eyes on her.

It was 1993 in the Denver suburb of Arvada, Colorado. We both worked for Blockbuster Video, although at different locations. My store was being closed and she came in as part of a crew from the store I was being transferred to. Did I know at that instant that I had found the person I would spend the rest of my life with? No, that only happens in fairy tales. While she was certainly a cutie patootie, the idea of love at first site is too superficial for me. I can tell you though, that it didn’t take long for me to fall head over heels. Tiffany is jovial and fun-loving, kind-hearted and caring, with the confidence to succeed and the humility to appreciate what she has.

If it sounds like I’m describing the perfect mate, I guess I am, especially considering I’ve even¬†managed to turn her into a sports fan over the years. I like to tease her sometimes that her once simple tastes have become more extravagant as time goes by, but the simple truth is if you want to see my wife sparkle, just give her a Diet Coke and some chocolate. Honestly though, I will do everything in my power to make sure she is happy because she has given me the best 17 years of my life. I take great delight in watching her live her dream as an author, and I look forward to walking hand-in-hand with her through our continued life’s journey together.

Happy anniversary my love, I am forever yours.

Cover Love

Okay, so now that the excitement over the book cover is done we can talk about the actual book, hehehe. The time is almost here for the release of Forgotten Souls, the sequel to Meant to Be. As time draws closer to the release date, my excitement to share it with all of you grows. Writing a sequel is a lot tougher than I thought. I worked hard to keep the characters consistent with book one, but also add new elements that showed their growth. I hope everyone enjoys reading Forgotten Souls as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Another exciting thing that I’m taking part in is a fabulous anthology with several bestselling authors. The book is called The Glassheart Chronicles, and is a collection of eight short stories by¬†Brandon Alston, Fisher Amelie, J.L. Bryan,¬†Courtney Cole, Wren Emerson, Amy Jones, Nicole Williams, and of course me.¬†¬†My feature¬†is a back story¬†based on Meant to Be that¬†provides insight into the origins of the main characters. I hope you enjoy it and don’t forget to check out these other terrific authors if you haven’t already.

I hope to have Forgotten Souls out by the end of July and the anthology will be out in August.

¬†Being a writer is an honor and a privilege and I thank all of you for giving me a chance. I hope you like the new cover and stay tuned for more exciting news to come ūüėģ
