Paying it Forward

Ok, so we know it’s no secret I love Twitterville and all the tweeps on it. I love the great conversations and all the kind gestures I see each and every day. I love that writers get to connect with those that not only read their work, but also blog about it. I love that writers root for each other and that bloggers show authors their love of reading by writing beautiful reviews of their stories. I love the RT’s and giving shout-outs to all my friends I’ve come to rely on each and every day. I love paying-it-forward and showing my friends that I care enough to RT things that are important to them.

This week, I found out the most amazing and wonderful thing that someone did for me that I never knew. On April 17th, my sales took a huge spike and I sold more copies that day of Meant to Be, than any other day. My sales ranking went from 32,000 all the way down to 1,300, and I was amazed. This was a huge crossroads type of day for me. I had just found out that I had gotten a job I had applied for. I was not overly excited about the job, and was sad it would take more hours away from writing and my family. The day my numbers spiked, I told my hubby I was going to turn down the job and take the summer off to get the second book released. The spike in my sales gave me the faith I needed to continue to pursue my dream.

Soooo, I’m sure you’re wondering what changed it all and spiked my sales. Well, on April 17th, someone listed my book on the website, Pixel of Ink, which I had no idea even existed. I have no idea who listed it, but wish I did. They will never know what they fully did for me that day, and I will forever be grateful to them. They gave me the confidence to shoot for my dream once and for all. That also made me think of all of the other wonderful people that I have had the pleasure of meeting since the release of Meant to Be. To each and every one of you that have helped and inspired me with your kindness and support, I say THANK YOU!    Paying-it forward is an amazing and powerful concept that creates an infinite number of positive ripple effects. I truely believe this, so if you paid-it-forward for me that day, thank you so much. I challenge everyone to find a way to pay-it-forward for someone. I promise it will benefit you sometime when you least expect it.
